MAHALO Skin Care x The Red My Lips Tint: From now until the end of April or until supplies last, get your hands on MAHALO’s first ever beauty product: a lip tint! This lip tint is a special collaboration with Red My Lips, a non-profit organization that runs a month-long global red-lip wearing campaign in April to raise awareness and to demonstrate solidarity and support for survivors of sexual assault.mahalo_redmylips

Housed in the MAHALO’s signature, hand-made bamboo case including a mirror and refillable base, the Red My Lips tint features a hand-crafted infusion of organic moisturizing oils, natural waxes, and collagen amino acids to promote plump, volumized lips while offering a rich and empowering matte red shade. Fragranced with dark vanilla and rose and a faint undertone of Hawaiian jasmine, this lip tint also comes with a vegan lip brush and is presented in a custom designed red box. A portion of proceeds from the sales of The Red My Lips Tint will be donated to RedMyLips.org. This would definitely make a great gift as well as a meaningful way to be involved with an inspiring cause. $45 for 2.5g, MAHALO, while supplies last/until April 30.
~Also receive MAHALO’s new Beauty Blooms Facial Steam as a complimentary gift with any purchase over $150! During the month of April, until supplies last, $45 value.

ILIA Beauty Spring 2016 SPF Collection: What kind of post would this be without me mentioning a new ILIA collection? If you haven’t seen it by now, ILIA’s new spring collection, the SPF Collection is lust-worthy as per usual with all products featuring SPF coverage and fresh, all-white packaging. The collection features 2 new tinted lip conditioners with natural SPF 15 protection: Kokomo (a soft, sheer mauve) and  Bombora (a sheer, warm red), a clear lip balm: Balmy Rays (an upgrade to Balmy Days but with SPF 15), Moondance: a light luminous finishing powder with SPF 20 (an upgrade to their Fade Into You powder), and All Your Gold: an illuminating, gold-flecked SPF 20 beauty balm. While everything sounds tempting, I’m most curious about Moondance and All Your Gold.

I still love using Fade Into You as a setting powder (my review HERE) and I’m curious about Moondance’s upgraded packaging and the addition of SPF 20 which would be great for spring and summer use. All Your Gold sounds like the green beauty answer to those brightening and highlighting primers that are all over the market these days. $26-$42, ILIA, Credo Beauty, The Detox Market.

Osmia Organics Nectar Vital Rose Drops: New from Osmia is this luxe facial oil, simply formulated with only eight ingredients that are 99.6% certified organic and quite opulent with likes of organic rose otto, argan, prickly pear, pumpkin seed, and rosehip seed oils. Osmia suggests using Nectar by adding 3-4 drops to your usual face cream or serum to “increase penetration, strengthen the skin cells, and help them retain moisture throughout the day.” This luxurious, high-quality formulation sounds heavenly! $98 for 1fl oz., Osmia Organics.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche collection: I know a lot of people within the green beauty community are weary of Bite Beauty products not being as pure as can be, but I personally don’t find their products or formulations to be that troublesome. Bite’s new massive collection called, Amuse Bouche features a variety of 34 lipstick shades, formulated with natural ingredients like nourishing oils and organic butters, as well as claiming to provide ultra-creamy, hydrating texture. Sounds like my kind of lippie! Not to mention the jaw-dropping array of highly-pigmented color options. Going along with the “amuse-bouche” theme (it means “single, bite-sized hors d’œuvre”,) the lipstick shade names all cutely reference food ingredients. I want them all, but am really lusting over Nori, Pickled Ginger, Sake, Sweet Cream, and Verbena. $26 each, Sephora.

Weleda Jardin de Vie Natural Perfume Collection: Who would have thought legendary skincare company, Weleda would release fragrances after all this time? Even though it seems a bit long-awaited, I do think it’s an exciting jump for the brand. Not surprisingly, Weleda’s new, Jardin de Vie natural perfumes are inspired by the brand’s main skincare ranges: Argume (Sea Buckthorn: fresh summer joy), Grenade (Pomegranate: sensual and erotic), and Rose (Wild Rose: romantic), and are formulated with natural essential oils. “Our perfumers develop in house a wide range of sophisticated scent compositions made of natural essential oils. Each fragrance is a piece of art and the result of loving handwork.”

I was able to find these perfumes available in-store at one of my local Whole Foods market, and took the opportunity to sniff them all. Turns out, they all do smell true to Weleda’s skincare ranges and I think if you’re partial to any of the scents from the skincare, you’ll be pleased with these naturally fresh-scented perfumes. Since I love the Sea Buckthorn skincare range, I loved the matching perfume, and also liked the Pomegranate scent. I can’t speak to the lasting quality of these perfumes but am quite curious. It looks like you can buy these from Weleda’s website but I recommend checking your local Whole Foods or natural food markets too. $24 each, Weleda.

Exciting green beauty additions at various e-shops: Lately, I’ve been spotting a lot of awesome green beauty additions to some of my favorite online shops, meaning buying everything you want online has gotten a bit more convenient. The Detox Market is now carrying my favorite British skincare brand, Pai, and the high-performing Canadian beauty brand you’ve got to try, Sappho Organics (review of their liquid foundation HERE). Integrity Botanicals now carries Henne Organics, Gressa Skin, MAHALO and Ursa Major. While The Choosy Chick recently introduced my favorite Australian lipsticks, Nudus to their shop. So many of my favorites at more of my go-to shops, I’m weeping with joy!

As it’s that season for annual Sephora sales, I was browsing Sephora’s website just for the heck of it when I stopped dead in my tracks from seeing ILIA’s Illuminator as a “Just Arrived” product on the front page. So is Sephora carrying ILIA now? Seems like it’s only this product (in the 3 shades) and only online, for now. Pretty crazy! I also spotted Eco Brow at my local Sephora store as well though I know they’ve been available online for a while now. I’ll be keeping a curious green beauty eye on Sephora and you should too…

On another note, Jessica Alba’s Honest Beauty line is now available at various Ulta Beauty stores nationwide! I found the skincare and beauty collections available at my local Ulta and snapped a pic of the store display on my Instagram. It might be a better deal to order products through Honest Beauty’s website to get the “bundle” discount pricing (though this requires a subscription.) If you’re curious to see the products in person like I was, it’s pretty exciting to know how accessible Honest Beauty products will now be! I swatched some products in person and now I feel more confident about what I do or don’t want to purchase online.

Which of these new releases and announcements are you most excited for? What are some other new products you’re lusting over?

Love the roundup of new releases! How exciting that Detox Market carries Pai. I’ve heard raves about their cleanser and rose hip oil.

I’ve tried all of the new Ilia SPF products and have loved them. The lip conditioners are both lovely and very subtle. If you are familiar with Fade Into You, then the Moondance powder is a big upgrade IMHO. The applicator is much better and I prefer the finish over Fade Into You. The powder feels less drying on my skin than Fade Into You and the (very) slightly luminous finish reminds me of the W3LL People Bio Brightener powder but in more convenient packaging for travel AND with SPF.

So far I’m also really loving All Your Gold. It is creamier than Ilia’s tinted moisturizers and the finish is dewy vs the powdered finish of their other tinted moisturizers. I don’t get much shimmer from this product at all but it’s a very natural warm glow. As you noted, this functions like an illuminating primer and, as a long time fan of Vapour’s Stratus Soft Focus primer, I am considering switching to Ilia’s All Your Gold for the summer since it offers a seasonally appropriate warm tone and the added bit of sun protection is always appreciated!

Wow, thanks for giving me a detailed scoop on the ILIA products, Alyse! 🙂 Now I think I’m really going to have to snag Moondance, I’m all about the upgraded packaging and powder formula! Dying to try the All Your Gold too xo
