Weleda Sensitive Skin Facial Care: Refreshed Look, Trusted, Healthy Formulas

When I think of brands I use and trust, there are a variety of aspects that I like to consider, however a factor that’s always intriguing to me is a brand’s history. Weleda is a brand that has upheld their legacy in the beauty industry with not much changing, whether it be their commitment to natural, holistic skincare, or cultivating and sourcing quality ingredients from the brand’s own Biodynamic® gardens (one of the first in the world). Yet with such a legacy (almost 96 years of history), some things do change for the better. Recently, Weleda relaunched and refreshed the branding of their Facial Care line.

I had the opportunity to try out products from Weleda’s refreshed Facial Care line and I’m partnering with Weleda to giveaway a Facial Care starter kit to one lucky reader! Scroll to the end of this post for more details on how to enter this giveaway on Instagram.

Weleda is a brand I rely on for effective, no-fuss products with trusted, proven organic and natural formulas. I also like that I can easily pick up Weleda products at most local drug stores, Whole Foods and Target stores.

As I expected, the Sensitive Skin Facial Care formulas fit seamlessly into my skincare routine and have greatly helped treat my skin during the seasons it most needed care. I appreciate the gentle, moisturizing properties of each product and the use of organic sweet almond oil as a main ingredient, serving to nourish and soothe skin, while maintaining the skin’s natural protective barrier. The Sensitive Skin formulas have a muted, sweet, floral scent that is quite soothing and not overpowering or irritating.

What I enjoy most about Weleda’s Sensitve Skin Facial Care products is the cream-based formulas, a product type that any dry/sensitive skin-sufferer like me is happy to use. While I love using facial oils and cleansers, sometimes my skin naturally aches for a simple cream product. Weleda’s formulas are gentle and nourishing, and effective in treating irritated or dehydrated skin. I also like the tube packaging which is simple-to-use, convenient, and lightweight to travel with.

The Sensitive Skin Facial line features two moisturizers: the Almond Soothing Facial Lotion and Almond Soothing Facial Cream, both of which are supremely smooth and gentle on the skin. The Facial Cream is a tad bit more hydrating and heavier in texture, so I prefer using it in the evenings though I have used it during the daytime if my skin is in need of extra hydration. Both absorb quickly into the skin and leave behind a smooth, protective layer of nourishment.

Almond Soothing Facial Lotion, Facial Cream ingredients: Water (Aqua), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Prunus Domestica (Plum) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid.

The Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion is a daily favorite of mine, especially when my skin is feeling especially dry and dehydrated. This Cleansing Lotion is also incredibly easy to use. Soft, gentle, and quite airy for a cream-cleanser, it literally melts into the skin while getting every last bit of grime and keeping my face very hydrated. I continue to use this cleanser because it is very effective (even for gentle makeup removal) while not harsh, or drying in the least. It’s also hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, 100% natural, and always leaves my skin feeling so fresh. Plus, it’s one of the few cleansers I can easily tote around with me whenever I travel! Think of this product as a (healthier) cold cream for the modern age: it’s everything you’d want in a gentle, effective cleanser that doesn’t mess with your skin; it only makes it better.

The One Step Natural Cleanser & Toner is such a unique and satisfying product that I think is very underrated. It’s a multi-use product that is incredibly easy to use. It’s unique in that it’s a pat-on liquid cleanser that also works to tone the skin at the same time. It’s perfect for lazy days and when you just want to use one product and be done. The One Step cleanser effectively cleanses, while also leaves skin feeling quite nourished. The  product leaves behind a slight tingly sensation and a pleasant citrus scent.

After using this cleanser, I like to follow up with the deeply moisturizing Almond Soothing Facial Serum. Not only does this serum smell delicious (not as sweet as you’d imagine), it also sinks into skin quickly and creates a nourishing barrier, keeping skin soft and supple for hours. This gentle, soothing product also never looks or feels greasy on skin, making it wearable during the daytime and at night. I found it the perfect nighttime product for waking up with soft, glowing skin and I like that it is lightweight, soothing, and absorbs quickly on my face. It is so gentle, it can also be used as non-irritating eye makeup remover.
