The Cult Favorite: Kjaer Weis Mascara

KjaerWeisMascara2

This post is definitely long overdue but some products just hold on to my heart like none other and then a year goes by and I realize I probably should have written a review about it. Sorry dear readers, I’m working on it. (I’m also working on taking better photos of my eyelids too which is mostly the reason why this post is so delayed. #bloggerfail) Today I’m finally talking about the love of my eyelashes, the cult favorite: Kjaer Weis Mascara.

For me, mascara is not a daily makeup necessity. This is probably because 1) I usually wake up for work around 6am and am too lazy tired to add on another 5 minutes to my already quick and simplistic makeup routine, 2) most of the products I’ve tried seem to  damage my lashes more than they do to enhance them, and 3) I hate mascara that smudges everywhere and the fallout that gets in my eyeball/on my contact lenses. There is nothing more irritating, people! If anything, I like to gently curl my lashes for more volume and head out the door or, just save the mascara for important evening events. My lashes are very thin and long yet grow downwards.

Kjaer Weis’ Mascara is the first product I’ve found that works well with my lashes, has a clean formula, lasts all day without smudging, and doesn’t irritate my eyes. It separates and naturally defines lashes like a dream giving my thin lashes a slight boost in appearance. This luxe mascara holds my lashes in its curls all day long without making it feel weighted-down or weak.

The formula contains beneficial ingredients that are gentle and nourishing like jojoba oil, lavender water, rose oil and rosemary extract among others, with 99.8% ingredients sourced from organic farming as certified by CCPC, Italy’s organic certifying authority which requires 95% organic ingredients.

The skinny, razor-like mascara wand is a great size and shape for gently combing lashes for a more well-defined, natural look. I like how the wand separates and lengthens my lashes while the mascara’s formula is long-lasting and doesn’t go on super heavy nor entirely wet. I only experience major clumping on my lashes if I apply more than 2 coats of mascara. I usually get the effect I want with 1-2 coats of this mascara.

Not only is the gorgeous packaging palm-sized and small enough to tote around anywhere, this mascara tube is also fully recyclable and refillable. The tube holds enough product for 3 months use to avoid bacteria buildup and refill tubes which can be replaced back into the packaging are sold online for $28 each. I’ve already gone through a few refills myself and find that Kjaer Weis’ mascara is the one that I keep coming back to. {How to refill your KW Mascara}

For anyone with sensitive eyes, allergies or those who are looking for a long-lasting organic mascara that produces naturally defined lashes, I’d definitely recommend trying this mascara. A high-performing, organic formula and beautiful, refillable packaging keeps me shelling out my hard-earned dough for this luxe mascara. I like to think this mascara with its sustainable refills are more worth the money and less waste produced than if I were to constantly buy other mascara tubes. Kjaer Weis’ Mascara is a cult favorite for good reason and is one product that every green beauty ought to try out.

Kjaer Weis Mascara is $38 for 0.19 oz/5.4g and refills are $28 each. Purchase this mascara and refills at Eco Diva Beauty and The Detox Market. See my review of other gorgeous Kjaer Weis makeup here.

    I’m using this mascara currently, and really like it! Like you, I feel that most mascaras cause more harm than good (I hate loosing lashes during the cleansing process and avoid wearing mascaras ;). Great post! xx

      Thanks for reading Ruhi! 🙂 Agreed, using mascara always seemed to add to my lashes falling out or putting more pressure on damaging them. I’m getting used to wearing mascara more and Kjaer Weis’ Mascara definitely helps with the process! Glad that you’re loving it too!

    This is my favourite mascara too! I had tried Lavera and Physician’s formula Organic wear prior to getting this one, and neither of them performed as well as Kjaer Weis. You are right – the higher price tag is worth it.

      Kjaer Weis has really exceeded my expectations for a high-performing, organic formula. I can’t find many others that stack up to it! Thanks for reading Kira, glad you are loving this mascara too 🙂

    I’m going to have to try this one day, a lot of people recommend it and your results look fab! I also hate when mascaras flake as I wear contact lenses too…sooo annoying!

      Amber, you definitely need to try it! Probably THE best mascara (out of everything) that I’ve ever tried. I feel your pain as a contact lens-wearer, so far I have not found a better non-flaking mascara than this one! xo

    Started using Kjaer Weiss mascara recently. At first I didn’t like it, but now I really do. It does not give a high impact look but a very natural look, which is what I ultimately like in a mascara. And, it’s very easy to remove at night.
