The Cult Favorite: Kjaer Weis Mascara

This post is definitely long overdue but some products just hold on to my heart like none other and then a year goes by and I realize I probably should have written a review about it. Sorry dear readers, I’m working on it. (I’m also working on taking better photos of my eyelids too which is mostly the reason why this post is so delayed. #bloggerfail) Today I’m finally talking about the love of my eyelashes, the cult favorite: Kjaer Weis Mascara.

For me, mascara is not a daily makeup necessity. This is probably because 1) I usually wake up for work around 6am and am too lazy tired to add on another 5 minutes to my already quick and simplistic makeup routine, 2) most of the products I’ve tried seem to  damage my lashes more than they do to enhance them, and 3) I hate mascara that smudges everywhere and the fallout that gets in my eyeball/on my contact lenses. There is nothing more irritating, people! If anything, I like to gently curl my lashes for more volume and head out the door or, just save the mascara for important evening events. My lashes are very thin and long yet grow downwards.

Kjaer Weis’ Mascara is the first product I’ve found that works well with my lashes, has a clean formula, lasts all day without smudging, and doesn’t irritate my eyes. It separates and naturally defines lashes like a dream giving my thin lashes a slight boost in appearance. This luxe mascara holds my lashes in its curls all day long without making it feel weighted-down or weak.

The formula contains beneficial ingredients that are gentle and nourishing like jojoba oil, lavender water, rose oil and rosemary extract among others, with 99.8% ingredients sourced from organic farming as certified by CCPC, Italy’s organic certifying authority which requires 95% organic ingredients.

The skinny, razor-like mascara wand is a great size and shape for gently combing lashes for a more well-defined, natural look. I like how the wand separates and lengthens my lashes while the mascara’s formula is long-lasting and doesn’t go on super heavy nor entirely wet. I only experience major clumping on my lashes if I apply more than 2 coats of mascara. I usually get the effect I want with 1-2 coats of this mascara.

A high-performing, organic formula and beautiful, refillable packaging keeps me shelling out my hard-earned dough for this luxe mascara. I like to think this mascara with its sustainable refills are more worth the money and less waste produced than if I were to constantly buy other mascara tubes.
