Plaine Products continues to be my go-to brand for natural personal care products in sustainable packaging, and with a convenient recycle and refill subscription program. The brand recently added to their Face Care collection with the release of a new product, the Face Toner.
Packaged in the brand’s signature, recyclable aluminum bottle, the Face Toner* is a powerful addition to one’s skincare routine. The formula features natural, vegan, hypoallergenic, cruelty free ingredients, designed to biodegrade and is free of sulfates, paragons, phthalates and palm oil. Regular use of a toner balances skin’s natural pH levels, cleanses and soothes skin. Plaine Product’s toner effectively cleanses, soothes, balances, and nourishes skin. I enjoy using the toner right after I cleanse my face.
The formula is very lightweight, yet hydrating and leaves skin feeling silky and supple, never dry or irritated. It absorbs into the skin quickly.
The scent is pleasantly fresh and light, with notes of citrus and floral, as well as the green tea used as a natural fragrance. The scent is so delightful and soothing.
The toner’s unique properties also “calm skin irritations and shrink pores while cleansing and hydrating the skin naturally.” I do notice my skin appears smooth, glowing, and any breakouts or irritations progressively soothed.
I initially thought the 2.5oz size seemed quite small for a toner, but a little definitely goes a long way. The toner can be applied with a spray pump (that can be added to your order and reused with each new refill) or applied with your hands or a reusable makeup pad.
I forgot to add the spray pump to my order, but I’ve actually enjoyed applying the toner with my favorite muslin cloths. Using a muslin cloth makes it easy to directly apply the toner all over, and really allows me to feel the full physical effect of the toner cleansing and nourishing my skin. I also like applying with a muslin cloth as it provides a little bit of gentle exfoliation.
With an outstanding gentle, nourishing formula with natural ingredients, and a convenient recycling and refill program, I think I may have enough reasons to never want for any other toners.

Even at my most minimal, a gentle and hydrating face cleanser is one product that I use the most in my skincare routine (followed by a moisturizer).
The Face Wash is another outstanding skincare product from Plaine Products. This cleanser features Vitamin C to help “refine your skin’s tone and texture and fights against the signs of aging.”
Like all Plain Products, the cleaner formula is also natural, vegan, hypoallergenic, cruelty free ingredients, designed to biodegrade and is free of sulfates, paragons, phthalates and palm oil. The ingredients are also blended with whole essential oils, instead of synthetic fragrance.
The cleanser is very gentle, refreshing, and has a substantial yet silky gel-like texture with a nice, light lather. It effectively cleanses skin (especially removing makeup), while leaving skin feeling soothed, smooth, and incredibly nourished. As someone with dry and sensitive skin, this product is exactly what I look for in a cleanser.
The cleanser also has a very pleasant fresh citrus smell, that is not overpowering but is revitalizing and very pleasant.
I also somehow forgot to add a pump for the cleanser, which would definitely be more convenient to use here. (I’ll add one to my next refill order.) However, I actually only need a bit of cleanser each time I wash my face. It’s surprising because I normally buy cleansers much larger than 2.5oz, but this has actually lasted me a while. The pump is definitely a must-have for more exact dispensing.
Depending on the seasons and how my skin is feeling, I like switching between a gel or oil cleanser, and a cream or balm cleanser. I will definitely continue to use and re-purchase the Face Wash as a staple lightweight cleanser in my skincare routine.

The Toner and Face Wash are standout products that can easily fit into skincare routines for all skin types. I have been enjoying my hair products subscription from Plaine Products, and I will be adding the Face Wash and Toner to my plan. I’d like to try the Face Moisturizer next, and hopefully the brand will come out with an SPF at some point!
