Products are packaged in durable aluminum bottles that not only keep products fresh, but are also easy to be recycled. Each bottle has a secure screw-on top, and allows for a pump top for easy application. The pump tops can be saved and reused with future purchases of the body lotion or shampoo and are included with each new bottle purchased. I find these options very handy for traveling and for recycling. All Plaine Products also come shipped in simple cardboard boxes free of extra, wasteful packaging that can be reused or sent back to the brand.
Not only did I enjoy the shampoo and body lotion I tried from Plaine Products, I also really loved how encouraged I felt from the low-waste impact products and ease of recycling and repurchasing.
I tried the Body Lotion in Rosemary Mint Vanilla, and oh man does this stuff smell amazing! Not only does this body lotion have an intoxicating, comforting scent, it is superbly hydrating and easy to apply all over the body. The formula is vegan, cruelty free, non-GMO, biodegradable, sulfate free, palm oil free, and includes soothing and nourishing ingredients like aloe, green tea, and shea butter. My skin can get very dry and flakey in the winter, but this body lotion was great for locking in moisture and ensuring smooth, nourished skin. I’ve had challenges transitioning to cleaner hair products, and as one moves away from conventional shampoos, I’ve also learned it’s difficult to find effective and affordable products. There are only a few shampoos I’ve found that meet my strict criteria and work well for my hair and routine (as I shampoo my hair daily). I was a bit doubtful about the Shampoo from Plaine Products, but after a couple weeks of testing, I was quite surprised with how gently and effectively it cleaned, without being overly nourishing for my oily-prone hair. I love that I can use it daily and not leaving my hair with gunky residue or feeling more greasy. I like that the formula is simple, yet gentle, and includes specific ingredients like coconut oil, camellia, green tea, and chamomile extract to restore and add sheen and softness to hair.
