RMS Beauty makeup wipes: Stop the presses! Legendary organic color cosmetics brand, RMS Beauty recently released their Ultimate Makeup Remover Wipe, certified-organic makeup wipes infused with the same radiance boosting properties as their beloved Raw Coconut Cream. These “100% eco-friendly” biodegradable wipes not only remove makeup but cleanse skin too: “These use-anywhere wipes melt away makeup, cleanse, soften and moisturize skin, all in one making them perfect for even lazy face washers.” Packaged in chic silver wrapping, the Ultimate Makeup Remover Wipe is available individually or in a pack of 20 wipes. Bare Beauty’s lovely review of this product reveals that these makeup wipes are made from compostable rayon and really do only contain organic, unrefined coconut oil. $1 for individual wipes, $16 for a pack of 20 wipes at RMS Beauty or The Detox Market.

MAHALO Skin Care Rare Indigo Balm: I’ve admired the beautifully formulated skincare products from MAHALO Skin Care for a while now though I still hadn’t gotten around to trying any of their products. MAHALO’s founder, Maryna recently reached out to me announcing something very exciting: the launch of the Rare Indigo Balm. I was honored to be a part of the select few to receive and test out MAHALO’s newest, most intriguing product.

Named after it’s star ingredient, the extract of the rare indigo plant (which recent clinical studies showed has potent anti-inflammatory, antivirus, antimicrobial, anticancer actives,) the Rare Indigo Balmcontains 29 high-performance ingredients that are organic, local and/or wild harvested when available. Luxurious essentials oils provide an addictingly crisp, exotic and soothing scent with a hint of sweetness. Not just a beauty to look at, this unique indigo-violet blue hued balm heals and moisturizes skin, calms inflammations and skin irritations like acne and eczema, restores elasticity to aging skin, and provides provides youth-enhancing hydration and optimal moisture while empowering long-term skin health. The consistency of this balm is creamy and soft because it is completely free of wax and is held together by butters, unlike the brand’s Mahalo Balm or other solid balms on the market.

The Rare Indigo Balm was definitely a product my dry, sensitive skin took to immediately and something I know is going to be perfect not only to use during colder temperatures, but all year-round. I loved how gentle and supremely moisturizing this balm is as well as how revitalized and supple my skin felt after use. You’re not going to want to pass on getting the Rare Indigo Balm: it is a luxurious and unique skincare product involving a true feat of expert formulation and creation. $110 for Rare Indigo Balm at MAHALO Skin Care. Pre-sale of the Rare Indigo Balm begins today, November 11 so don’t wait and be the first to grab a jar of unique luxury! Official product launch is November 18.

Sustain Condoms at select CVS pharmacies: Sustain is a pretty cool brand in my opinion. Whoever really stopped to think about how wasteful and harmful condoms were to the environment? Sustain produces sustainable, certified vegan, certified fair-trade condoms that are also FDA approved, low odor and free of nitrosamines. Sustain products are free of chemicals normally found in condoms like fragrance and spermicide. The natural latex Sustain uses in their condoms is extracted from a fair trade, sustainable rubber tree plantation in southern India and is manufactured in an award-winning environmental factory. Sustain condoms also have a reduced latex protein level to prevent allergic reactions common from latex and each condom is individually electronically tested for high quality and for its intended purpose. Sustain also recently released other intriguing products for a healthier, eco-friendly sex life: Organic Lubricant (unscented and Lavender scented) and Post Play Wipes. The brand donates 10% of their profits to women’s health initiatives and you get free shipping with every order. Previously only sold on Sustain’s websites and online markets like Amazon, Pharmaca, Target, and in-stores at Whole Foods, the brand recently announced their products will be hitting the shelves at select CVS pharmacies nationwide. Hooray for more  sustainable, healthy sexual health products everywhere! Find a CVS location and other stores near you selling Sustain products here.

Ursa Major Deodorant, Body Lotion, Body Wash: The newest launches from Ursa Major are some much awaited body skincare essentials for both guys and gals. Launched on October 25th, the Hoppin’ Fresh Deodorant is an all-natural product that “eliminates underarm odor while absorbing excess moisture and soothing sensitive skin.” Ursa Major claims their 100% natural and toxin-free (aluminum-free) formula is also non-staining and provides 24-hour protection with a fresh, cooling aroma. Say whaaat?! I’m definitely curious about this product especially for my sweaty fiance 😛 We will report back about this product soon! Available later this month are Ursa Majors’s Citrus Riot Body Wash and Perfect Zen Body Lotion. The new Body Wash boasts a 100% organic, super concentrated formula with a “punchy, citrus-infused aroma” that removes oil and grime while hydrating and soothing skin. The Body Lotion features natural ingredients like aloe vera and a blend of delicious and beneficial essential oils like sweet orange, bergamot and cedar providing a lightweight texture and deep, soothing hydration that also accelerates healing, conditions, and softens skin. $18 for Hoppin’ Fresh Deodorant, $24 for Citrus Riot Body Wash (available soon), $26 for Perfect Zen Body Lotion (available soon) at Ursa Major.

Meow Meow Tweet Limited Edition Lavender Deodorant Cream, Pink Rose Clay Soap: As October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Meow Meow Tweet released a limited edition of their popular deodorant cream in a lavender scent donating $2 of sales from every product to Breast Treatment Task Force: “a grassroots organization that facilitates free breast screening and education, diagnostic follow-up, and treatment for NYC patients without health insurance.” The Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream in Lavender contains MMT’s beloved and gentle certified organic deodorant ingredients (dietary magnesium, arrowroot powder, plant oils and butters) without baking soda or clay, modified with a potent blend of lavender and tea tree essential oils. Seems like the limited edition deodorants are still up for grabs, but these anti-stink superheroes are so popular I wouldn’t count on them being around for long! Another recent release is the Pink Rose Clay Soap, a gentle and moisturizing facial soap recommended for all skin types. “French pink clay and crushed rose petals cleanse and detoxify skin with the lightest exfoliation. Delicately scented geranium, palmarosa and lavender essential oils calm and heal skin while toning and clearing the complexion.” No doubt this dual-hued soap has a lovely floral scent and soothing properties plus, who can resist that cute illustration of 2 cats pampering themselves? $15 for Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream in Lavender, $14 for Pink Rose Clay Soap at Meow Meow Tweet.

I’ve got my eye on the new Ursa Major products, especially the deodorant. The RMS wipes have me intrigued too – an oil infused wipe?! – but coconut oil + my skin aren’t always a good match, so I’m not sure I’ll be picking them up anytime soon.

Yes! I’ll be receiving the new Ursa Major products soon so I’ll report back when I’ve tested them. 🙂 Sorry that coconut oil doesn’t go well with your skin, it seems like it would be a major deterrent for so many others too. Such a shame because the RMS wipes are so intriguing! :/

How does the scent of the indigo balm compare to ML’s blue cocoon? I wasn’t a fan of the sickly sweet smell of the blue cocoon…

Hi Vanessa, I’d say the Blue Cocoon is definitely much stronger and sweeter in scent while the Indigo Balm has more of a fresh, floral scent and slightly minty, which I prefer. I’d say it’s very muted and not quite as strong or chocolate-ly as Blue Cocoon. Hope you get to try it out for yourself! 🙂
