Hynt Beauty: A Great “Hynt” at Luxurious Clean Beauty Formulas

Hynt Beauty products - Plein Vanity

Hynt Beauty is a brand that’s been around for a while in the green beauty world, but one that I have not tried many products from. Hynt (pronounced like “hint”) is well-known for its high-quality mineral makeup products, but they also have an impressive range of skincare. The brand is co-founded by a breast cancer survivor, with a mission for luxurious clean beauty products that do not aggravate the skin. Here are my thoughts trying Hynt beauty products for the first time:

Hynt Beauty Aria Pure Lipstick- Plein Vanity

Aria Pure Lipstick in Passion Plum: Hynt’s lipsticks have always intrigued me, because on the top of each lipstick cap features a lip balm and a mirror to aid in accessible, on-the-go application. I always apply lip balm before using any type of lip product, so this is a pretty ingenious idea. The lip balm itself isn’t too fancy but I like that it is scentless and lightly hydrates the lips. I think the packaging feels a bit clunky and perhaps unnecessary, but unique nonetheless.

The Aria Pure formula features Hynt’s “patented GMO-free, plant based complex” that helps boost water absorption and hydration levels. It also includes organic ingredients blended with organic oils such as castor seed oil, jojoba oil, and rice bran oil that help nourish and moisturize lips. This lipstick comes in seven shades.

Passion Plum is described as a “rosy brown nude” color, and I enjoyed that it can be built up for more drama. It’s definitely within my normal wheelhouse of neutral, mauve-y, plum lip shades. In my opinion it is not as brown as Hynt’s photos depict it to be, but does have that deeper undertone.

I was pleasantly surprised by how moisturizing and nourishing this lipstick was, and even more impressed with the quality of color and long-lasting properties. The lipstick simply melts into the lips, not only leaving behind beautiful, defined color, but also hydrated and supple lips. No flaky, dry lips, nor skipping of pigment with this lovely, smooth formula! I would highly recommend this lipstick. The price seems pretty comparable to other clean lipstick brands out there, especially with such a standout formula. However, I think the traditional, bulky packaging may be overshadowing this great product. $29 each. Also available at Integrity Botanicals, Safe & Chic, or Ulta Beauty.

Hynt Beauty Forte High Definition Eye Liner- Plein Vanity

Forte High Definition Eye Liner in Brown: It’s been some time since I’ve included eyeliner in my usual makeup. It’s an extra step that most of the time looks a bit too dramatic for my daily needs but for special occasions, I love wearing eyeliner to add extra emphasis to my eyes.

I was curious to try the Forte High Definition Eye Liner since it’s described as “creamy” and “long-lasting” with the ability to soften or define. The formula includes organic and natural ingredients that provide gentle and smooth properties, which makes it really fitting for sensitive skin.

This eyeliner provides strong definition and seamless color quality, while also being hydrating and smooth on the eyes. I never experience any skipping or fading upon application. The formula also has a slight creamy texture so you can easily soften or smudge using the sponge applicator attached to the pencil cap. Defined lines are actually very easy to create with this liner, whether you are an eyeliner expert or not, and the creamy texture allows you to beautifully transform any “mistakes”.

The pencil liner wears well for over 8 hours, but as it has a creamy texture, it will smudge. Nonetheless it stays in place and the color lasts. I was pleased with how nicely this eyeliner performed and love that the Brown shade looks very soft and natural, yet can be built up for a more definition. Overall, this product exceeded my expectations for an eyeliner. I think it’s a great choice for those with sensitive skin or those who aren’t quite experts or perfectionists at winged/cat-eye liner (and you honestly don’t care). $20 each. Also available at Safe & Chic or The Detox Market.

Hynt Beauty_Alto Matte Powder Blush- Plein Vanity
Alto Matte Powder Blush in Sunset Pink: I have not used a loose powder blush in a while either since I prefer pressed blush powders for ease of use and less risk of mess. I was excited to try Hynt’s loose powder blushes because they have a reputation for standout quality in the green beauty community.
The Alto Matte Powder Blush is packaged in a traditional sifter jar that allows for a bit more precise gathering of product. Normally loose powder tends to gather in pores and dry out my sensitive, parched skin, yet the Alto Matte Powder Blush does quite the opposite. The blush has an ultra-fine consistency that feels extremely soft and nourishing, and blends effortlessly into the skin.

This blush feels gentle and nourishing on the skin, thanks to the skin-soothing, vegan formula that is free of titanium dioxide. It is very nice for dry or sensitive skin, and performs just as well, if not better than other blushes (include pressed blushes) that I have used. The matte blushes come in 4 shades.

Hynt describes the shade Sunset Pink as a “warm brownish pink” that is matte with no shimmer. I would agree with this shade description, and add that it is a nice addition to have especially if you love defined cheeks but like to skip that extra step of applying bronzer. This shade has a muted brown tone that provides subtle definition, and the pop of warm pink adds a natural hint of blush.

The pigmentation definitely packs a punch in terms of color and long-lasting ability. Every swipe brings intense color and is still very buildable. While there are no hints of luminescence since this is a matte blush, it still provides a defined look to the cheeks that is natural and not super stark like other matte face products. Even those who have dry skin (like me) could wear this matte powder blush without worrying about dry, flaky skin and still achieve a pop of color and natural glow.

This is another win for Hynt Beauty in my book: a blush that has a finely milled formula that is surprisingly hydrating and gentle, high-performing, and provides intense color. It’s another product that I think is definitely overlooked among other blush products in the green beauty world. $28 each. Also available at The Detox Market.

Top to bottom: Alto Matte Blush in Sunset Pink, Forte Eye Liner in Brown [smudged at edge], Aria Pure Lipstick in Passion Plum

Hynt Beauty products pleasantly surprised me overall with nourishing and gentle formulas, as well as high-definition and long-lasting properties. These products are definitely overlooked by others that seem to have more “sex appeal” in terms of branding and packaging.

In my opinion, Hynt Beauty packaging is a bit outdated and clunky, especially when talking about luxury, prestige clean beauty products. I think it might be time for sleeker, sustainable packaging that makes the brand stand out more and represent outstanding formulations, because these products deserve to be noticed! If you’re on the fence about this brand, definitely take a chance, because the formulas are some of the best in clean beauty.
