Here’s an unique scenario for you: a trained therapist/life coach decided to merge her skills helping transform people’s lives and her passion for clean skincare. What happened next? I was beyond honored and excited to try Strange Bird products because of the brand’s unique mission, and also because Tina is an OG green beauty blogger friend of mine. It’s so cool when your friends do amazing things and you can cheer them on! Tina has a unique gift as a life coach and healer, and I’ve also always admired her detailed, inquisitive perspectives on beauty, skincare, and mental health.
The Strange Bird product lineup is simple, yet each one is exceptional in it’s formulation, performance, and intentions. The products can be used separately as each has their own standout skin benefits, and it may come down to personal product type preference if you are deciding between the serum or the moisturizer. However, when using all three of these products together as one entire routine, I’ll be honest that a truly amazing skincare alchemy occurs and it really is worth it.
Inner Clarity Cleanser: Don’t be fooled by this simple sounding product, it’s actually quite unique because it acts as a cleanser, mask, and exfoliator all-in-one. It gently and deeply detoxifies, removes makeup, scrubs away dead skin, and cleanses skin thanks to high quality USDA Certified Organic and EcoCert ingredients. This cleanser helps to hydrate, rejuvenate, and heal the texture of your skin.
I was initially weary of the claims of this 3-in-1 cleanser, but wow does this deliver! The creamy, slightly gritty texture of this cleanser makes for easy and mess-free application. Kaolin clay provides satisfying exfoliation that is gentle enough to use daily (something I normally would never think to do). It also provides properties that allow this cleanser to function as a gentle face mask by drawing out impurities and detoxifying skin. Jojoba oil provides skin with a smooth yet deep cleanse, also very effective in removing makeup, as well as keeping the skin nourished and protected. Infused with clear quartz and crab apple essences to help “release any negative energy so that you can let go of what you don’t need and leave only what you do.”
The cleanser also has a bright and pleasant citrus scent that always leaves me feeling more soothed and calm. I never thought I could use an exfoliating cleanser as a daily product, but this one really does the job without irritating my skin! $58, Strange Bird Beauty, or Safe & Chic.
Inner Balance Serum: This serum is lightweight and soothing, with a slightly runny yet creamy texture upon application. The serum absorbs and dries down quickly on the skin, leaving a tacky, dewy texture that helps lock in moisture and protect skin. I find the muted fruity scent to be bright and uplifting, and the serum is my favorite product to prep the skin for makeup or just in the morning, as it instantly leaves skin plump and soft. This serum features the brand’s signature “G Team” ingredients: ginger, ginseng, and goji berry, which help to reduce inflammation, hydrate, and promote cell regeneration. Infusions of amethyst and oak essence help to center thinking and connect to inner strength.
While this serum alone leaves my skin feeling very satisfied and nourished, I prefer to add a bit more moisture on top to soothe any dry areas, which leads into the fitting next step of the routine: the Inner Light Moisturizer. $88, Strange Bird Beauty, or Safe & Chic.
Inner Light Moisturizer: This is actually the moisturizer of my dreams! It’s creamy and deeply hydrating, while also light and silky. It’s rich in texture, with a more traditional cream-light feel than the Serum, yet doesn’t leave the skin greasy or oily. The weighty texture and deeply hydrating properties also make it great to dab under eyes.
This delightfully sweet scented moisturizer is perfect to wear during the day, under makeup, or in the evening, regardless of the temperature outside. It helps to soothe and nourish my dry, sensitive skin, providing lasting hydration and smooth skin all day long. I also frequently use this moisturizer on targeted dry spots on my face. Along with the signature “G Team” ingredients of ginger, ginseng, and goji berry, this product features hyaluronic acid and camellia and jojoba oils, for hydration and nourishment. Rose quartz and olive essence infusions help to promote feelings of inner love and support.
Adding this moisturizer on top of the Inner Balance Serum is a satisfying part of my nightly skincare routine. Using both products together not only helps to boost hydration and glow, but also just leaves my skin feeling supple, fresh, and reinvigorated. If I were to pick one high-end daily moisturizer to use over and over again, it would be the Inner Light Moisturizer hands down.
