I wrote this article for Ecouterre after attending a presentation on the 103rd anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, one of the deadliest workplace fires in American history. The talk focused on why the Fire is still important in the midst of recent workplace tragedies (specifically the ones that happened at garment factories in Bangladesh), and what this historic incident can teach us in our efforts to cultivate effective, fair labor practices within the garment industry and beyond.
