Happy New Year! 2014 was a great year but I’m excited for 2015! I’ve got all sorts of plans and ideas for Plein Vanity in the new year. Thank you for reading and for all your support, I am can’t believe how much my blog has evolved since it’s humble beginnings. Since I compiled the posts you all loved last year, this year I’m picking my favorite blog posts from 2014:
Skincare With True Plant Purity: Laurel Whole Plant Organics– Probably my best skincare discovery of 2014! (Okay, there were a lot but this was one for the books.) Nothing can compare to this line’s formula of pure, unaltered whole plant ingredients and the amazing skin benefitting results I encountered. Can you only imagine what’s in store for Laurel WPO in 2015? There’s already a tempting body oil in collaboration with Seed to Serum’s new online shop!
Scents That Transcend: Christy Organics Natural Perfumes– I’m picky with my fragrances and I wasn’t really totally on the natural and organic perfume bandwagon, that is until I discovered the ones from Christy Organics. These all-natural, handcrafted perfumes made in Australia regained my hope and interest in finding that perfect natural (and healthy) scent. I loved trying out these fragrances and still LOVE using them everyday! I always keep one in my purse for instant scent rejuvenation. The brand’s founder loved my review so much, they’ve decided to make their brand’s slogan based on my observation, “Scents That Transcend”.
99 Problems But My Pits Ain’t One: Natural Deodorant Roundup– Gathering some of the best natural deodorants was lots of fun! I’m not much of a deodorant wearer (no shame!) but everyone sweats, right? The best part about exploring natural deodorants was finding products with healthier ingredient alternatives that are actually more effective and gentle on my pits than mainstream products.
My Signature Summer to Fall Look– I don’t normally write these kinds of posts (makeup looks) because although I love beauty, I don’t necessarily think I’m the best at makeup application or at least showing it. (I’m terrible with photographing my makeup.) But I loved the idea of this blog tag’s theme (a few of my blogger friends tagged me to do this) and I thought putting a spin on what was “My Signature Summer Look” would be fun. Plus, I actually had a few favorite products I really wanted to talk about!
Beauty Chat: Margot White, Founder of The Choosy Chick– I loved getting to know Margot, otherwise known as The-Chick-in-Charge (dubbed by yours truly): a mother, teacher, and founder of new green beauty online shop, The Choosy Chick. It’s inspiring to learn about everyone in the green beauty community and how our stories can relate, encourage, and educate. I love sharing stories and connecting with all the unique individuals I meet through these Beauty Chats. Know anyone I should feature in 2015?
Spring Brights: ILIA Beauty Spring Collection Tinted Lip Conditioners Review- I’ve held back on purchasing many of the new makeup collections released this year (and there were so many tempting ones,) but when there are new ILIA lip colors there is always a dilemma for me. I loved the Spring Collection colors and still use Jump and Hold Me Now all the time. Did you purchase any of these colors?
Au Natural Factual: Reishi Mushroom- I loved learning about all the uses and benefits of this traditionally revered fungi. It’s a plant that traces back in time and history across many cultures, and it’s making a comeback! My fascination with uncovering the ins and outs of plants and ingredients has not ended but I hope to continue adding more to my Au Natural Factual collection for 2015.
What Natural Makeup Dreams Are Made Of: La Bella Figura Beauty’s More Than Makeup Line– What’s better than a cult skincare brand expanding to the makeup world? Not much else in my book…I was over the moon when La Bella Figura Beauty debuted their More Than Makeup natural cosmetics line this year, I had to try it! The cream blushes and highlighter are dream products and the eyeshadow is still a daily necessity for me. I hope they’ll be more LBF makeup products coming out in 2015!
