prAna is a California-based sustainably made clothing company that started out with yoga and climbing gear. The brand is known for it’s stylish, yet comfortable, activity-ready clothes for men and women. They participate in a variety of sustainable initiatives, like responsible fabrics and production processes, Fair Trade and Fair Labor practices, and giving back to local communities.

What I like most about prAna clothing is that you can effortlessly transition from activewear to regular, everyday wear without it being too noticeable. I can’t exactly wear yoga pants to work, but prAna has styles that are as comfortable as yoga clothes but look suitable for both work and play.

prAna offers a great collection of clothes that are made from organic cotton, certified by either the OCS or the GOTS standard. prAna sources their organic cotton from Fair Trade farms. Organic cotton is friendlier to the environment and to those who wear the clothes, since clothes sit on your skin. Organic cotton requires less water, uses rainwater more efficiently, and eliminates the use of, and exposure to GMOs, pestisides, and other harmful chemicals.

Organic cotton is also durable, soft, and lightweight–perfect for the beginning of fall! Thanks to the kind folks at prAna, I picked out some organic cotton pieces* to review for an easy transition into fall, while also great for lounging and going out in public. The Mainspring Sweater has a nice, relaxed fit but isn’t too baggy or too large. The sleeves are a bit long, but not too noticeable to me. When the temperature drops, I could even fit a sleeve t-shirt or a button-up layered underneath this. The XS size fits my petite frame just right, and the fabric is lightweight, yet warm enough for breezier days. I love this Weathered Blue Heather, muted blue color because it adds a bit of brightness to my usually dark and monotone closet.

The tiny chevron and dotted details on the front, shoulders, and arms adds a pretty, yet understated dimension. The fabric is super soft and comfortable to wear lounging, yet I feel the sweater still looks appropriate to wear to work or for casual-wear out of the house. The Mainspring Sweater is going to be a staple for me this fall! The fabric is 100% organic cotton and Fair Trade Factory Certified. Mainspring Sweater, $89.

I’m always on the hunt for stylish pants, that don’t actually make me feel or look like I’ve just hit the gym, and ones I can wear around the house and also out for a casual day (maybe on a dress-down Friday at work). To my pleasant surprise, the Beaker Pant actually checked all those boxes!

I love the mid-rise fit of these pants, they sit above my hips. The inseam is a nice fit for my short stature, though I do get a little bunching near my ankles, it doesn’t bother me. The wide, elastic waistband provides amazing comfort and stability. prAna’s site says these pants run large, however the XS fits me perfectly. These pants are not too loose nor too tight fit on me, they are very comfortable. I have been wearing these everywhere! (I did even wear them to work!) I can lounge at home with these on and also wear them out. The organic cotton/hemp blend fabric texture feels like a light and soft, but with more give and durability, more of a stretchy pant than leggings or sweatpants.

I love the seaming details down the legs, and the back pockets because they add an extra touch, making these pants look less like loungewear and more like actual pants (maybe even a comfier alternative to jeans). I chose the Beaker Pant in Charcoal, and I really like how this deep gray color is a nice alternative to black, because it is casual but can also look dressed up. These pants will be great to travel with, they are what you’d want to wear for comfort on a plane and for adventuring in new places! The fabric is 64% Organic Cotton, 28% Hemp, 8% Spandex.
Beaker Pant, $89.
