Smell Beautiful, Save a Life: Pour le Monde Perfumes

I’ve been on quite a natural fragrance kick this year and have discovered some products that really put my beloved toxic scents to shame. What is better than a gorgeously designed, beautifully-smelling, all-natural perfume? One that also gives back. Pour le Monde which means “For the World” in French, creates 100% natural, luxurious fragrances and each perfume benefits a special charity. 

Pour le Monde is the only certified 100% natural fine fragrance company recognized by the Natural Products Association’s Natural Seal, the first and only natural certification in the United States. The brand’s products are also certified animal cruelty free by Leaping Bunny as well as Peta’s Beauty without Bunnies and Vegan.org.

The perfumes are packaged in gorgeous glass bottles with chic details like the scalloped design on the spray-top cap and the colorful, simplistic labeling. There are 3 scents to choose from, each one benefitting a different charity:

Together: “An elegant and graceful classic woodsy floral that’s flirtatious yet delicate.” Benefits the non-profit, Cancer Support Community.
Empower: “Fresh and spirited, an invigorating unisex citrus scent.” Benefits the non-profit organization, Guiding Eyes for the Blind which provides dogs that empower the blind, visually impaired, and children with autism.

Each perfume is crafted from all natural and sustainably made ingredients that are also free of pthalates, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances and dyes, chemical sunscreens, synthetic alcohol, animal testing and animal by products.

Pour le Monde was kind enough to offer me the chance to try out samples of all their fragrances as well as a full-size perfume. The full-size I chose was Envision, a scent I was surprised I ended up loving.

One spritz of Envision and I knew it was like no other scent I’ve encountered before. My usual fragrance picks are light, floral, and feminine scents and Envision is a bold, warm, exotic scent that is not normally what I am drawn to. I initially gravitated towards Together, a floral, feminine scent, but felt it was a predictable choice for me.

I love that Envision has noticeable floral, fruity notes from ingredients such as Madagascar vanilla, Floridian grapefruit, and French lavender while also woodsy, earthy notes from Indonesian patchouli, Pink peppercorn, and Italian bergamot. Everything combines for a provocative, sultry and spicy scent that I swear radiates warmth on my body.

The fragrance was a bit strong for my sensitive nose, so I sprayed minimal amounts on myself everyday which also to get myself used to a perfume so exotic for my usual tastes. Still, a little bit goes a long way and the scent lasts throughout the day. I love how it smells on my skin after more than 8 hours, a muted, fresh scent but still makes me feel incredibly sexy.
