There are some makeup brands that pride themselves on beautiful, daily-wear products and there are others with products that go beyond the norm. The first time I laid eyes on the natural mineral pigment products from Rituel de Fille*, I knew that these were not your average natural beauty products. The dark black packaging, mystical-inspired design, out-of-this-world variety of colors, and unique product textures had me under a spell. The brand’s unique variety of cosmetic colors are quite rare in the natural beauty realm and for this, Rituel de Fille’s products definitely stand out in the crowd.
Rituel de Fille was founded by three sisters, two of which are makeup artists, all “inspired by the magical side of natural ingredients, and the ritualistic, ceremonial power of pigment.” Their products feature 99% natural mineral and plant-based ingredients with uniquely bold hues that are uncommonly seen in the natural beauty world. Everything from Rituel de Fille is handcrafted, cruelty free, and formulated using the fewest possible ingredients. Rituel de Fille products are free of synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and talc. Some products do contain ingredients like beeswax, lanolin, and carmine as Rituel de Fille specializes in natural, vibrant color and don’t use synthetic vegan substitutes. The products that first caught my eye were of course, the lip products. Rituel de Fille has two types of lip products: Forbidden Lipsticks and Enchanted Lip Sheers. I received three Forbidden Lipsticks and two Enchanted Lip Sheers: Against Nature (bold fuchsia), Night Wanderer (deep violet), Fortune Teller (deep berry red), Bloodroot (amber, blood orange), and Blackthorn (deep blackberry).
I love that the formulas are very simple and straightforward, while the intense pigmentation makes it hard to believe that everything is natural and mineral-based. The Forbidden Lipsticks have beautiful and extremely lasting color and are actually quite moisturizing. The formula does not tug or shed on my lips like some drier lipsticks do and I find after applying and wearing for a bit, the Forbidden Lipsticks leave behind a really nice tint on the lips.
Night Wanderer, the darkest lipstick shade I tried, was actually also the driest of the bunch and the most difficult to apply. That aside, I fully enjoy the Forbidden Lipsticks and just love the bold colors and lasting, hydrating formula. Forbidden Lipstick, $23 each.
The Enchanted Lip Sheers are similar to a tinted lip balm. They are extremely moisturizing and actually quite buildable in color. They also start off very pigmented so you really only need a few more swipes to increase the intensity. I never need to wear lip balm when I’m using an Enchanted Lip Sheer!
I love the formula and color variety. Bloodroot is one of my favorite colors out of all the Rituel de Fille lip products I tried; it’s a beautiful orange-y red shade that is sheer but can also be built up in intensity and because it’s a Lip Sheer, it is extremely hydrating and lightweight. Enchanted Lip Sheer, $21 each.
From intensely dark and moody to classic flirty and feminine, Rituel de Fille’s lip products allow you to choose a fitting shade for any opportunity.
Next up, the amazing Ash and Ember Eye Soots, products where Rituel de Fille’s spellbinding pigments really show off. Not only is the color variety drool-worthy, but the texture is quite unique. The Eye Soot is in-between a cream and a powder eyeshadow formula. In fact, the Eye Soots have a nice, spongy-like texture that has a bit of give upon first touch. When applying, it smooths out evenly and does appear more like a powder shadow. The texture upon application is not specifically creamy or wet like a true cream eyeshadow (ie. RMS Cream Eyeshadow) and because I have pretty oily lids, I do like the solid, more permanent feeling of this formula more.
Only a few swipes of these eyeshadows provides more intense, lasting color than some of my favorite pressed powder eyeshadows combined. I tried out Serpent de Mer (a dreamy, violet-bronze), and Half Light (a beautiful, shimmery taupe) and I really enjoy using both of them on a daily basis. Due to their unique formula and texture, Ash and Ember Eye Soots can be applied three different ways: using fingertips, with an eyeshadow brush, or as an eyeliner with a liner brush. Check out the ways to apply this product in this helpful video here. Ash and Ember Eye Soot, $27 each.
Lastly, the lovely Inner Glow Cream Blushes: how can you not fall in love with these beautiful compacts? The two blushes I received are Lovesick and Desire. Lovesick provides a neutral pop of pink to the cheeks, while I also like wearing the unique pinkish-mauve Desire under another blush as a contouring product or alone, as it provides flattering definition for my skintone. When swatched on my arm, Desire showed up way more purple-pink toned than it appears on my cheeks. The pigmentation of these blushes is very nice though as with most cream blushes, the color doesn’t last on my skin.
I do think Rituel de Fille’s blushes wear better on my cheeks compared to other cream blushes and I do not find any irritation. I don’t mind reapplying either because these cute mirrored compacts make it easy to carry around and mess-free to add to my makeup bag. The Cream Blushes have a buttery, light texture that applies smoothly on skin and are initially quite pigmented upon application as well. These blushes are hydrating, colorful, and beautifully packaged. Why wouldn’t you give them a try? Inner Glow Cream Blush, $24 each.
I think the beautiful spell of Rituel de Fille has me enchanted and I know I’m more than curious to continue trying out their products. For anyone who’s ever been doubtful or scared of color, you really need to try out some of Rituel de Fille’s rich pigmented products. The brand also has many gorgeous collections and collaborations with limited or exclusive products. I can’t help but always feel inspired from stalking their beautiful Instagram page!

The Eye Soots sound really wonderful, I’ll like to try them as I also prefer drier eye shadows that stay put to the creamy ones. Thanks Kasey.

Omg, everything you said in the intro…I felt exactly the same when I first came across Rituel De Fille. I just wish they wer eon this side of the pond! I did manage to pick up Lovesick at Catbird in NYC though and it’s such a great colour. Interesting texture when you compare it to other cream blushes too, more of a cream to powder finish don’t you think?

🙂 I’m still lusting over everything from Rituel De Fille, everything is so enchanting and just different! So glad you had a chance to pick something up, Lovesick is so pretty and a color that’s always on rotation for me. I agree, the cream blushes do have a unique texture, definitely reminiscent of a cream to powder finish. So good!
