Nothing gets me more excited than when I discover international skincare brands with pure and natural ingredients, that work for my sensitive skin. The pain only sets in when I realize most of these amazing international products are difficult to find or just not available in the U.S. More and more, popular international brands are branching out to the States and I couldn’t have been more excited when U.K. brand, Odylique announced in October they’d launched their new web store for U.S. and Canada.
Odylique is a British skincare brand based on effective formulations containing only organic herbs, plant oils, and natural active ingredients suitable for even the most sensitive skintypes. There are no synthetic chemicals nor artificial fragrances added to Odylique products furthering the brand’s commitment to Soil Association-certified standards and also providing the very best for sensitive skin. Formerly called Essential Care, the brand was founded by a mother-daughter duo and all products are handmade locally in Suffolk, UK. With over 30 years of providing effective, beloved products in Europe, Odylique’s newest venture into North America is generating lots of buzz and even more fans across the pond.
I was given the chance to try out 3 amazing products that really worked well for my skin and now have me hooked on Odylique products. And that gorgeous packaging? I just can’t get enough of the clean, simplistic, feminine design.
Calming Rose Super Tonic- One spritz of this and I knew it was love. Nothing is better than a rose facial toner. I love how hydrating and soothing this toner feels on my face and the sweet rose scent is delightful. Not only does this toner provide extra hydration and overall balance to my skin, it definitely helps moisturize and nourish skin. According to Odylique, in warmer weather the Rose Super Tonic could replace a seperate moisturizer. I’ve been savoring every bit of this product and am dreading when I use it all up! $29 for 1.69 fl oz.
Ingredients: Rosa centifolia flower water*, Calendula officinalis flower extract*, Alcohol*, Rosa damascena flower oil* *Organically grown & produced (100% of product)
Timeless Rose Moisturizer- The creamiest, sweetest-smelling day cream I have ever used. I prefer using facial creams over oils in the daytime and this moisturizer was a nice addition to my daily favorites. I liked that the Timeless Rose Moisturizer was lightweight, soothing, and very moisturizing. Ingredients like rosehip, aloe and sea buckthorn contribute to this moisturizer’s smooth, soothing, and hydrating properties while also providing a lovely fresh fragrance. The moisturizer is not greasy but does take a minute to sink into skin. If you have trouble finding a daily moisturizer specifically for sensitive, irritated skin I would highly recommend the Timeless Rose Moisturizer. At $48 for 1.69 fl oz. (or $21, 0.51 fl oz. for the trial size), I think this is a pretty average price-point for an effective daily moisturizer with stellar organic ingredients. (Lots of delicious antioxidants here!) I received the trial size which was very handy for traveling and constant on-the-go use but I’d love to purchase the full size moisturizer in the future as the pump-applicator would definitely be more convenient and easier to use.
Ingredients: Aqua, Rosa centifolia flower water*, Simondsia chinensis seed oil*, Cocos nucifera oil*, Butryospermum parkii butter*, Helianthus annuus seed oil*, Glycerine**, Cetearyl alcohol, Hippophae rhamnoides fruit extract*, Cetearyl glucoside, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder*, Rosa rubignosa fruit extract*, Rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract*, Pelargonium graveolens oil*, Rosa damascena flower oil*, Lactic acid, Sodium anisate, Sodium levulinate, Sodium lauroyl lactylate, Xanthan gum, geraniol * & eugenol* (in the essential oils)
Spot-On Serum- Probably the product I was most surprised by, the Spot-On Serum is an amazing and effective acne spot treatment. I love that this product feels like a soothing moisturizer and not a drying, irritating spot treatment. The smooth cream-texture is gentle and lovely to use with a delightful hint of scent derived from lavender and tea-tree. The results are even better than how it feels: I applied this on blemishes and acne spots (both small and large) and every time I’ve tried it, spots are instantly gone within a day or two! Quick and painless. It really is the magic of natural ingredients. You also only need a little bit of product for the Spot-On Serum to perform its acne-banishing magic and the Serum works incredibly well alone or underneath the Rose Moisturizer. Because it is a very hydrating cream product, I found this to be a bit watery when applied but I do like how it quickly sinks into skin. I’m still in love with Osmia Organics’ Spot Treament oil but Odylique’s Spot-On Serum might be a more price-friendly alternative for the amount of product you receive. $29 for 2.0 fl oz. or $16 for 0.7 fl oz.
Ingredients: INCI: Aqua, Olea europaea oil*, Cocos nucifera oil*, Melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil*, Lavandula hybrida oil*, Zinc oxide, Alcohol*, Cetearyl glucoside, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder*, Calendula officinalis flower extract*, Echinacea purpurea extract*, Citrus limon oil*, Pogostemon cablin oil*, Lactic acid, Cetearyl alcohol, Xanthan gum, limonene* & linalool* (in the essential oils). *Organically grown & produced (100% of product)
