Defying Anti-Aging Skincare: DN-UNIK Hyaluronic Products + a discount code!

From what I can tell, European organic and natural skincare brands are really on a roll with beautiful innovative, effective products. I love supporting American brands and makers, but I also really love discovering products from other countries and am even more excited when international brands expand to the U.S. One such brand is DN-UNIK, which features beautiful skincare products made in France, formulated with natural, plant-based ingredients that are also Ecocert and Cosmebio certified organic.

I immediately admired the clean, chic packaging of DN-UNIK products and that the brand aims to provide organic skincare formulas that focus on anti-aging results. There are 3 different skincare collections and 1 BB Cream product (really curious about that!) from DN-UNIK however, only the Hyaluronic line (100% natural and vegetable derived) is currently available in the U.S. though there are plans for more product releases in the coming year. All DN-UNIK products are formulated with hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that is derived from the fermentation of algae and plants and is known for its moisturizing and age-defying properties. I was definitely curious about this type of natural ingredient and couldn’t wait to try out the products I was sent.

I think I’m still pretty young to attest to any anti-aging or wrinkle-reducing results, but I can say that DN-UNIK products instantly made my skin incredibly smooth and hydrated. All the products I tried left my skin feeling so soft, supple and renewed, I was amazed! Initially, I was skeptical even a bit confused as to why I’d want to test “anti-aging” products but now, I get it. These products made me realize, there’s no better time to start to protect and maintain my skin from aging or damage.

I’ve been in love with facial oils since I greened my skincare routine but DN-UNIK’s facial cremes are definitely giving my oils a run for their money. I tried the Age-Defying Day Cream ($57.95) and the Age-Defying Night Cream ($59.95), both of which I was surprised to find I loved. The texture of the creams were light, airy, and absorbed quickly into my skin but were not greasy or overly wet. In fact, the creams appeared quite matte so the Day Cream was perfect to wear under makeup, while the Night Cream was slightly thicker and best for going to bed with. Plus, both creams do not contain synthetic fragrances so they will not irritate skin.

The Day Cream features sesame oil to prevent dryness while buck bean restores firmness, tones, and brightens skin. The Night Cream contains sea fennel extract which is rich in Vitamin C and witch hazel hydrosol to soothe and tighten pores. Both creams left my skin feeling ultra hydrated and smooth. I also really liked that the creams were not overly fragranced but smelled pleasantly fruity and floral.

The Age-Defying Serum ($65.95) seemed like an unnecessary, extra product in my routine but it did seem to have a good purpose. As it’s called a serum, I thought the Age-Defying Serum would have more of a facial oil consistency, but it actually was the same light, moisturizing texture as the Creams. It also contains sesame oil, which is rich in Vitamin E and protects skin from harsh elements, as well as a combination of tara gum extract, which helps improve hydration, elasticity, and firmness.

Directions for applying the Serum include using it on the face alone or, underneath either of the Creams to lift, moisturize and strengthen the skin. I guess you could say it was like an extra layer of protection. I didn’t really see much of a difference applying the Serum underneath the Creams but I did like using the product on its own for keeping my face hydrated and moisturized at night.

I really enjoyed the packaging of the Eye Contour Serum ($52.95); a tall, slim wand that effectively dispensed the serum from the tip. No messy application here! The Eye Contour Serum was very hydrating and super light as the facial creams were, and effective in de-puffing the skin under my eyes. The result was slow-going but I liked how moisturizing this Serum kept the area under my eyes while not being greasy. Cornflower Hydrosol is a decongestant ingredient in this Serum which helps to soothe tired, puffy eyes. The Toning Lotion ($33.95) was a nice moisturizing and astringent formula that definitely helped clean and balance my skin. Lily Oil helps to reduce dark spots and soothe skin. I enjoyed using this and you do get a whole lot of product in the bottle (0.5 fl oz), but personally I prefer using a spray bottle toner.
