Above and Beyond Skincare Basics with Odacité + a Giveaway!

It’s been interesting to see that as I’ve been blogging about green beauty, I’ve had a natural gravitation towards pure and effective skincare brands. Though I’m still crazy about makeup, I’ve realized that a solid skincare routine is the basis for healthier skin, happier attitude and overall well-being. Green beauty has led me to find some of the best natural skincare brands that provide high-quality, gentle, and healthy products that really do work.

Odacité is a brand I’d had my eye on for a while. From the chic and simple packaging, variety of skin-healing products, to the brand’s encouraging philosophy on fresh skincare, Odacité seemed like another amazing natural brand I had to try. The brand prides itself on freshly-made formulas with ingredients that are certified organic, naturally-derived, cruelty-free, and contain no parabens, petrochemicals, 1.4 Dioxane Phtalates, TEA DEA Glycols, formaldehydes, nor fragrance. The Detox Market was kind enough to indulge in my curiosity and sent me a sampler pack of Odacité’s best-selling skincare products fit to my skin type (sensitive/combination). I’ve recently loved shopping at The Detox Market because of their exciting variety of organic and natural brands and presence in the luxe green beauty arena. The Odacité Discovery Kit ($29 for 7 products) allows you to experience a regular Odacité skincare routine (an estimated 10-day treatment) before investing in full-size products. As the products are a bit on the expensive side, this is a good way to really see how the products will affect your skin. For someone with sensitive skin like me, I’m always weary of trying full-size skincare products right off the bat. What was in my trial kit and what was the routine like?

The result? Everything I expected and more. I loved how gentle and fresh these products felt on my skin. I was impressed by the products mostly for the simple and effective formulations but also because of the moisturizing, balancing qualities all the products possessed. The product scents were muted but always very fresh and encouraging to keep using.

My favorite product (and the one I immediately purchased a full-size of after I’d finished the sample,) was the Beautiful Day Moisturizer. It is everything I look for in a daily facial moisturizer: weightless, smooth, hydrating and non-greasy. A blend of pure ingredients like jojoba, olive, vitamin E oils, and white tea provide soothing and moisturizing properties for any skin type. Black willowbark adds astringent and blemish-preventing characteristics while dimethylethanolamine (DMAE) and methylsufonatemethane (MSM) both work to keep skin firm and prevent sagging or wrinkling. Beautiful Day is definitely a contender for my all-time favorite daily moisturizer from Pai Skincare. Brenda from Wanderlusting Beauty had actually recommended this product to me before, so thank you for putting it on my radar! You were so right! 🙂 I also loved the Night Time Repair Serum, a creamy, hydrating lotion that kept my skin moisturized and dewy all night long. I’m thinking of investing in a full-size of this night cream next especially as the weather is getting colder and my skin gets drier.

My other favorite from the pack was the Jojoba Beads Exfoliant. I don’t normally like to exfoliate but I was smitten with this super-gentle, moisturizing scrub made from 100% pure, natural jojoba wax which does not have any sharp edges. As Odacité mentions, exfoliating with jojoba wax is “superior to other exfoliating agents because they do not leave micro-lacerations. These microscopic cuts could result in premature wrinkles and provide an entrance for bacteria into the skin’s surface.” This Exfoliant so nicely removes dirt and grime from my face, is not abrasive at all, and greatly minimized the size of my pores. The texture is smooth and creamy, glides over the skin and doesn’t leave the skin feeling dry. I only use this product once or twice a week because I don’t want to over-exfoliate, but it has been a great product for removing blackheads and cleansing all while being very gentle on my skin.

Overall, using these products on a regular basis radically changed my skin and has provided me with a simple but effective skincare routine. Odacité has given me more confidence in trusting natural and organic products emphasizing fresh ingredients and formulations. I cannot wait to try more from this brand!
