Bottega Organica is a natural, organic skincare brand formulated with farm-fresh ingredients and healthy, effective scientific processes. There is so much to say about this high quality, thoughtfully-crafted brand that it requires such care and reflection when writing about them. I find it difficult to describe in words the caliber and luxury of these quality formulas but I’m hoping my in-depth commentary and photographs will suffice…
The much anticipated, first ever Indie Beauty Expo was last week and it was probably the biggest green beauty event to hit New York City since A Night For Green Beauty 2 years ago. Of course, I had to attend and I was honored to not only be attending as a blogger and beauty aficionado, but also representing the editorial team from Thoughtfully Magazinealong with our beauty editor, Rebecca Casciano.
You know those brands that seem to have it all? Highly effective, pure formulas, sexy-simplistic design, and a cult following? I’d say that is what Josh Rosebrook’s hair and skin care products were for me. A gorgeous natural/organic brand I had heard so much about but realized I’d never experienced for myself. As my quest for cleaner and greener haircare evolved, I made known my curiosity in the shampoo and conditioner that everyone in the green beauty world seemed to be gushing over.
I’d be lying if I said converting my family and friends to organic and natural skincare has been an easy task. Everyone has their misconceptions and protests but in all honesty, it’s always easier for me to convince the ladies in my life of cleaner, greener skincare habits. The men in my life, well let’s just say they’re not really into it. And maybe that’s also due to men not having a very complex skincare routine or rather, no routine at all. My mission was to find unique and clean skincare products catering towards men that my fiance might be willing to try, but it proved harder than I thought. That is, until I was introduced to the ultra-cool, simplistic, natural and organic unisex skincare brand, Ursa Major.

It’s been quite busy around here, hence the lag in my writing: planning my wedding, prepping to move, working a full-time day job, doing 2-3 freelance jobs on the side, and just going about regular life. As usual, I’ve got a million products I’m hoarding trying out but in particular, there have been a lot of skincare products I’ve really been enjoying lately. Brace yourself, this might be a bit long… Here’s what I’ve been testing, liking, and using regularly:
Until recently I wasn’t really much of a fragrance-obsessed girl and truthfully, I wasn’t all that into aromatherapy either. I’ve always had a sensitive nose with very particular scent preferences and cleaning up my skincare and beauty routine has only heightened my sensitivity to fragrances. But dipping my toes in the eco-luxe fragrance world has really opened the floodgates to my new scent-loving tendencies. And aromatherapy, that’s a whole other beast I’m easing into now too.
Enter Soul Sunday, a handcrafted brand made in the USA which melds the best of two worlds: beautiful, minimalist design and effective, natural essential oil-based formulas. I’ve been obsessing over this small-batch apothecary goods brand and their standout aromatherapy blends are my current addiction.
Aptly released as the temperatures started to plummet here on the East Coast, Kahina Giving Beauty’s new Lip and Face Balm is anything but your average lip balm. Continuing with the brand’s highlighted ingredient: certified organic Moroccan argan oil sourced from Kahina’s women’s co-op in Morocco, the Lip and Face Balm also highlights some other exotic, skin-benefiting ingredients. such as immortelle, sea buckthorn, blue tansy, calendula, and carrot seed oil. Not only does the Lip and Face Balm promise to soothe and protect chapped lips, it also serves as a luxurious moisturizing salve for dry skin.
There’s something to be said about simple skincare products with high-quality, no-fuss formulations. I find myself more drawn to organic and natural products without fancy promises or death-defying qualities, rather I feel as though the products I’m loving now are ones that bring me back to the basics of effective skincare. Province Apothecary is an organic skincare company based in Toronto known for their sought-after handmade products devoted to organic, wildcrafted ingredients.
