I’ve tested quite a few natural and organic eyebrow products over the years and it’s pretty amazing to see the wide range of effective and unique brow products that are now on the green beauty market. No longer consisting only of scratchy brow pencils in a limited variety of colors, the green beauty brow sector has expanded and evolved tremendously. The Canadian natural beauty brand, Plumeknown for their brow and eyelash growing serum, has introduced a groundbreaking product, their Nourish & Define Brow Pomade, which I was excited to try out.
As if the beautifully designed, natural lipstick brand, Axiology could not get any cooler, they’ve launched a new collection consisting of natural Lip Crayonsin a stunning variety of colors. Effortlessly chic on the lips and equally stunning to look at, the Axiology Lip Crayons are fun and unique products that have arrived just in time for effortless, spring/summer beauty looks.
There are some makeup brands that pride themselves on beautiful, daily-wear products and there are others with products that go beyond the norm. The first time I laid eyes on the natural mineral pigment products from Rituel de Fille*, I knew that these were not your average natural beauty products. The dark black packaging, mystical-inspired design, out-of-this-world variety of colors, and unique product textures had me under a spell. The brand’s unique variety of cosmetic colors are quite rare in the natural beauty realm and for this, Rituel de Fille’s products definitely stand out in the crowd.
Nūdus lipsticks are a true work of art. From the elegant and sleek white packaging, standout certified organic formulas and colors, to the simplistic, artful packaging details, these lipsticks are unique natural lipstick gems. As a certifiable lipstick addict, I was more than ecstatic to give these buzz-worthy lipsticks from Down Under a try.
One of the things I love most about green beauty is the unique innovation involved in creating healthy, cutting-edge products. I admire green beauty brands that constantly bridge the gap between high-quality makeup and beneficial skincare. One such brand is Gressa Skin. I’ve loved Gressa since the beginning with their gentle and pure skincareproducts. Now, the brand has an outstanding full line of cosmetics: Minimalist Glamour featuring liquid foundation, liquid contouring serum, liquid highlighter, and their bestselling Lip Boosts (my review here).
While visiting my sister in Portland a few months ago, I also met up with Gressa’s founder, Svetlana for coffee. It was so fun to meet her in person and chat about everything from her company’s story to everyday life, and she kindly gave me a bag of goodies, including the new Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation*to try. While I don’t usually wear foundation everyday, I was definitely curious about these new products especially with their claims to be high-quality, pigmented, and full of nourishing, healing botanical extracts.
Luxurious all-natural skincare powerhouse, La Bella Figura Beauty recently forayed into the makeup world with their More Than Makeup line, and it’s nothing less than amazing. Once I set eyes on the clean, simple formulas and sexy, luxurious mirrored-compact packaging, I knew I had to try these new products. Featuring highly-pigmented, cream blush, highlighter, eyeshadow, lip tint, and now 2 limited edition products for the holidays: a blush and an eyeshadow duo, La Bella Figura makeup is enough for any beauty junkie to swoon. The pretty, universal colors tempted me but so did the fact that the product formulations focused on nourishing, skin-healing ingredients. It seemed revolutionary that thesemakeup products could still perform as makeup, but could heal your skin while beautifying it. I found that these beauty products are indeed what natural makeup dreams are made of.
Another confession: I judge products by their packaging. Yes, maybe that makes me shallow but at least upon initial inspection it’s always a piece in my consideration and future devotion. I’m a sucker for beautiful innovative design, is that such a crime? And when those qualities combine with organic, eco-friendly formulas in makeup and skincare well, just call me smitten. That’s what I’ve become with this gorgeous organic makeup line from Zao that I can’t help lusting over.
“The Zao philosophy is about an ethical and sustainable approach to living in harmony with nature. Looking beautiful should not compromise your health, the health of animals, or the health of the planet.”
August 2nd marked my birthday, I’m a year older (ack!) and now it’s nearing the end of August and summer (agh). And actually, did you know Plein Vanity reached it’s 1 year anniversary in late June? I’ve been so crazed with work, my personal life, and day-to-day things that the date somehow slipped by without much fanfare.
I am so grateful and humbled for being a part of the green beauty community and for growing an audience of like-minded individuals. Thank you so much for continuing to read Plein Vanity and inspiring me to keep doing what I love. I’ve grown so much in a year and this blog has developed into a medium of creativity, passion, and community that I’d never imagined. Thank you! 🙂
