Growing up, I had extremely thick, hairy eyebrows that for the most part, I was extremely embarrassed of. Thin, heavily plucked brows were the sign of the times and everywhere I looked I got the message that my naturally bushy brows were anything but cute. As early as middle school, my aunt took me to get my first eyebrow waxing and the obsession snowballed from there. In retrospect I wish I’d learned to own the natural growth and personality of my eyebrows and focused on proper brow maintenance rather than plucking furiously every night.
Nowadays, the trends all point to full and healthy brows and I think it’s about time. I’m more in-tune with natural brow care and sadly, trying to regrow my eyebrows back to their natural, hairier existence. I’ve never shared about my favorite eyebrow products before, so here are the beauty products I’m currently using to maintain a polished, healthy brow:
One of the first large-scale green beauty events I ever attended last year was A Night for Green Beauty, which was the first of its kind and held in New York City. ANFGB brought together green beauty bloggers, enthusiasts, and experts for a fun night of shopping top green beauty brands, makeovers, mingling with like-minded folks, and trying sustainable snacks. This year, the 2nd annual A Night For Green Beauty was held in Los Angeles. Sadly, I wasn’t able to attend so instead I poured my sorrows into the next best thing: buying a specially curated Goodebox featuring samples and full-size products from a handful of the amazing brands from ANFGB. This limited-edition box was advertised for August (the month that ANFGB happened), featured 6 items (with claims of at least 2 full-size products depending on the combination), and only cost $22 per box. Unfortunately, my box arrived 2 months later (in October). Darn you, USPS!
There are so many interesting green beauty releases right now, it makes me squirm with excitement! (Is that when you know you have a problem?)
1. Acure Organics Argan Oil Bar Soaps- I really love Acure Organics skincare and bath products because they are effective, accessible, and very affordable. You can find Acure products at most Whole Foods stores as well as at many online retailers. I love that the brand seems to be branching out into more unique products beyond normal shampoo and skincare lines without compromising simple, effective formulas. They most recently launched a new argan oil liquid castille soap, liquid body wash, and tinted lip glosses as well. The brand’s latest release are their Certified Organic Argan Oil Bar Soaps. These gentle, moisturizing, cold processed, artisan soaps are vegan and cruelty free with certified organic essential oils and natural fruits, spices, and herbs for ingredients. An added bonus, the 5 different bar soap scents are also super delicious sounding: cinnamon chai latte, mint cookie + omega 7, oatmeal + apple pie, pumpkin + calendula, superfruit + citrus. Doesn’t that make you want to bite a chunk of soap? Or is that just me… At $5.99 a pop, why wouldn’t you give these a try? $5.99 at Acure Organics
