Rescue and Repair Skin with CV Skinlabs + a Giveaway!

CVSkinlabs1-3

I was first introduced to CV Skinlabs at A Night for Green Beauty last year when the event was held in New York City. I briefly chatted with Britta Aragon, founder and creator of CV Skinlabs and was immediately intrigued with her brand’s story and the product samples she gave me. Britta’s experience caring for her father during his eight-year cancer battle and being a survivor of Hodgkin’s disease herself, culminated in her passion for promoting safe personal-care products. She created CV Skinlabs, which stands for “Cinco Vidas”, to offer products with gentle, effective, and safe formulas especially for individuals suffering with sensitive skin, chemical sensitivities, or skin conditions. Just reading the endless amounts of testimonials from everyone ranging from skincare professionals, celebrities to the average consumer, you can really tell that CV Skinlabs’ beneficial and effective healing formulas have stirred up some real attention.

I was recently given the chance to try out two of CV Skinlabs’ bestselling products: the Body Repair Lotion and the Rescue + Relief Spray. Both of these products are comprised of 99.4% natural content and 58.5% organic ingredients. Read my thoughts below and after the jump, enter for your chance to win a skincare product from CV Skinlabs!

Every CV Skinlabs product contains the Tri-Rescue Skin Complex. This blend of turmeric, alpha-bisabolol and reishi mushroom is a powerful combination of anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and skin-soothing ingredients that encourage repair and healing of damaged skin.

Body Repair Lotion ($36, 6.0 fl oz)- Before using natural and organic skincare products, I always preferred body lotion and creams to body oils. Now, I usually gravitate towards body oils because I’ve found they help make my dry skin less irritated and flaky plus, they keep my body more moisturized during the day especially in the summer. CV Skinlabs Body Repair Lotion is a rare product for me, it’s a natural body lotion that I’ve found is perfect on my skin all year round. I was surprised at how much I loved this product especially because it broke my rule about using body lotion instead of body oils in the summer.

The Body Repair Lotion is lightweight, gentle and leaves skin feeling super smooth and completely nourished. This lotion keeps my sensitive, dry skin moisturized all day (and night) and has a muted, fresh scent. Key ingredients in the Body Repair Lotion includes Beta Glucan and St. John’s Wort for their moisturizing, collagen-boosting and wound healing properties, and Calendula and Aloe, ingredients that combined, are a calming, soothing and anti-inflammatory duo.

Soak in the restorative power of this ultra-soothing body lotion. It gently glides on to absorb quickly and provide deep-hydrating and nourishing benefits to fragile and sensitive skin. It replenishes and soothes inflamed, dry skin. Ideal for soothing skin suffering from chemotherapy treatments, dermatitis, eczema, radiation burns and post-laser hair removal.

If you have dry, sensitive or easily irritated skin, I think this lotion is a necessity! This product is great for all skintypes and will give your skin lasting moisture and nourishment. The price point may seem a bit steep for a small amount of body lotion but the benefits are very worth it. I’ve been using this product daily and would definitely purchase it once I run out!

Rescue + Relief Spray ($34, 6.0 fl oz)- I wasn’t sure how much use I’d get out of this product but it turns out, this product was very handy to have in the summer. The Rescue + Relief Spray eases skin from all types of irritations like itching, burning and conditions of inflamed skin. The appearance of this spray is a light, milky formula that has an instant cooling sensation on the skin. It’s natural skincare magic at its best, derived from some truly beneficial, skin-healing  ingredients: Chamomile and Cucumber for calming, cooling and skin-softening benefits, Water Lily possesses purifying and heat-removing properties, and Valerian and Comfrey for their soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits.

I love the easy-to-grab bottle and trigger spout for quick, convenient application. This product lightly refreshes and hydrates skin whether you’re suffering from irritation or just needing a cool spritz to escape harsh weather. The Rescue + Relief Spray is a great solution for sun-burnt skin as it soothes any discomfort while also healing skin. This Spray also feels amazing on my tense muscles after a hard workout or regular yoga session, it truly provides relief and keeps my skin hydrated. I can only imagine how useful this will be for my skin during the winter, when my eczema is usually at its worst.

This refreshing, milky emulsion provides deep, hydrating moisture while calming and soothing flushed, sensitive skin. A multitasking formula, it brings instant, cooling relief to itching, burning, irritated, and inflamed skin caused by sun exposure, rosacea, eczema, rashes, laser treatments, chemical peels, shaving, waxing, minor burns, and radiation treatments.

This summer has already provided clumsy old me with some recent bodily mishaps: bruises, sunburn, aches. Most recently, that time when some fool pierced my foot with her 6-inch stiletto heel on the subway (no joke). I forgive the imbecile but my foot and the scar that is left do not. Spritzing some Rescue + Relief Spray on my poor foot has kept me calm and sane plus, helped heal my skin. I’m definitely bringing this life-saving product with me to my upcoming annual family beach vacation where I know I’m bound to need some relief from the hot sun and imminent burns.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Glycerin, Sodium Palmitoyl Proline, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract (Water Lily), Valeriana Officinalis Rhizome/Root Extract, Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Bisabolol, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Beta-Glucan, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Water (Aqua), Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract (Comfrey), Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Maltodextrin *Organic

Oh my goodness! Your poor foot 🙁 I hope it’s feeling better. CV Skinlabs is awesome. When my daughter had an eczema breakout suddenly, the Rescue + Relief spray was one of the few things that worked to soothe the inflammation and itchiness. Truly amazing stuff!

Only a few weeks left in our summer before school starts back for the kids, so organizing them is mission No. 1. We would use the Rescue Relief spay on the entire family. I own the Rescue balm and it has come in handy for skin flare ups. I trust CV to be a safe brand for the entire family. No need in my opinion to buy multiple things for my school aged kids and myself. Win-win.

I went to Europe earlier this summer and now I’m starting grad school! I just moved to Texas and this sounds like great way to deal with the harsh sun here!
