New Releases Radar 8

Is Spring really here? Not sure if I can say so with all this frenetic weather we’ve had, but there are tons of new green beauty releases for Spring that have me more than optimistic! (And lusting all over again.) Check out these new releases:

Laurel Whole Plant Organics Eye Serum: The newest addition to Laurel Whole Plant Organics’ lineup of skincare products is their highly anticipated Eye Serum.  While the brand already offers a lovely Eye Balm, the new Eye Serum is best suited for daytime use as Laurel WPO states the serum formula “absorbs more quickly and works well as a primer for eye makeup.” (The Eye Balm’s richer formula and balm-texture makes for a better nighttime eye product.) The Eye Serum features 21 anti-aging, restorative, and healing whole plant ingredients from a proprietary blend including Bilberry, Fennel, Licorice, Nettle, Chamomile, and Rosehips among others. All plants were carefully chosen to address fine lines, puffiness, inflammation, and dark circles. “The luxurious Eye Serum is incredibly rich and regenerative yet also extremely gentle, hydrating, and nourishing.” I am intrigued! $68 for 10 ml at Integrity Botanicals or The Detox Market. Read my Laurel WPO review here.

W3LL People Universalist Matte Multi-Use Colorstick #9: I love W3LL People products because they are beautiful, portable and multi-use natural makeup products. W3LL People recently released a new shade of their Universalist Matte Multi-Use Colorstick in #9 or “Nude Flush”. The Universalist Multi-Use Colorsticks can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips and like my favorite Narcissist Foundation Sticks, are creamy, smooth, pigmented and lightweight. Nude Flush looks like a nice, matte, orange-leaning tan shade. Perhaps, it’s that perfect product to add a sunny glow to faces left pale from a long winter?! It also sounds like W3LL People will release other “nude” shades in the future. “This subtle, sublime, sensuous color for cheeks, lips and eyes is the first in our new nude series. This nude flush enhances your natural complexion for extra lovely looks.” $34.50 at The Detox Market or Integrity Botanicals.

Double-Sided Z Palette: The Z Palette is a very convenient reusable, refillable magnetic makeup palette. I love that the Z Palette reduces clutter and solves the issue of unwanted makeup packaging in a cinch. It’s a sturdy, compact way to hold pressed pans of eyeshadow, blush, or perhaps all of your Kjaer Weis refills. 😉 Now, this popular reusable palette is available in a double-sided model so that you can have TWICE the makeup all in one place! Sounds pretty perfect for beauties on-the-go, makeup artists, or for product junkies like me who can’t ever seem to decide what products to bring along and what needs to be left behind. (Hint: nothing needs to be left behind!)  $45 only at Z Palette.

Meow Meow Tweet Face Toner and Spot Serum: MMT has a special place in my heart, not only are their soaps AHH-MAZING but so are their simply formulated, highly effective skincare products. (Once again, I’ve failed to fully write my thoughts on the skincare products but will do so soon.) Meow Meow Tweet has revamped their new facial care line with two new products and updated (read: even cuter) label designs. New to the skincare line is MMT’s Face Toner and Spot Serum. As someone who loves natural remedies for acne spots, I’m curious about MMT’s new Spot Serum. It’s a roll-on oil treatment with a blend of organic essential oils to treat blemishes and also nourishes skin. “This treatment is a powerhouse of organic essential oils that discourage bacteria growth and combat blemishes. Delivered in organic jojoba oil, known for it’s similarity to the skin’s own sebum, this fresh, handy roll-on is the perfect solution to stop blemish growth, or shrink and heal existing spots.” $24 and $25 only at Meow Meow Tweet.

Juice Beauty x Gwyneth Paltrow: The gorgeous Academy Award winning actress and Goop founder has teamed up with Juice Beauty for a new collection of high-performing, certified organic makeup products. I believe this new venture is following the path of the last Juice Beauty celeb collab a few years ago with Alicia Silverstone. The Juice Beauty press team shared that this will be a long-term business venture with Gwyneth having sole creative leadership for the project: “Gwyneth will be working with our scientists to develop and expand our high performance makeup collection made with certified organic ingredients.” After recent public controversy over Gwyneth and Goop not being “relatable” to the common woman, might this jump to support a lovely, affordable organic brand come at the perfect time? Perhaps. Even so, I’m intrigued at what’s to come out of this partnership. Full press release on Juice Beauty’s website.

Josh Rosebrook LIFT Hair Texture & Volume: Va-va-voom! The LIFT Hair Texture & Volume spray from Josh Rosebrook will give your locks added volume and texture without damaging your hair. As always, Josh Rosebrook’s newest product consists of a powerful herbal blend including horsetail, lavender, sage, thyme, rosemary and peppermint to gently stimulate and nourish hair follicles and the scalp. “Create weightless texture, volume and thickening with a matte, natural finish.  Organic yucca plant creates a pliable lightweight styling product that delivers beautiful, natural expansion to the hair.  Lift from Josh Rosebrook delivers natural, effortless style while encouraging a healthy scalp and strong hair growth in the follicle.” Sounds like another interesting product from the luxury haircare brand that I’d be curious to try on my volume-less hair. The product also has a fresh lavender and ylang ylang scent. $22 at Integrity Botanicals or at The Detox Market.

Badger Tinted Sunscreens:  Well-known for its organic skincare and sunscreens, Badger released 2 new tinted face cream products just in time for spring and summer. I tried a Badger sunscreen last summer (review here) and it was a huge disappointment. Badger informed me that they were reformulating their sunscreens to address the common complaint of the texture being too heavy and chalky. New to Badger are the SPF 30 Tinted Unscented Sunscreen Cream and the SPF 20 Rose Tinted Face Sunscreen (a reformulation of their popular Damascus Rose Facial Sunscreen). Both products only come in one “tinted” shade but seem to provide a sheer, blendable color to even-out most skin-tones while also providing effective protection from the sun. Both products block UVA and UVB rays with non-nano uncoated zinc oxide- “the safest, most effective single mineral active ingredient” and like all Badger Sunscreens, are packaged in tubes that are BPA- and phthalate-free #2 recyclable plastic.

The SPF 30 sunscreen cream is “moisturizing and water-resistant (to 40 minutes) sunscreen has a sheer tint for face and body (blends with most skin tones) and no added essential oil fragrance, so it’s suitable for use on even the most sensitive skin” with a natural scent of beeswax. The Rose Tinted Face Sunscreen is described as a “lightly tinted daily face moisturizer provides sheer coverage and protection from the sun’s damaging rays. Non-greasy, non-comedogenic, and hypoallergenic, it’s great to use alone or underneath makeup.” $15.99 and $24.99 only at Badger Balm.  {Great reviews of both products by Mary of Makeup By Mary B and Ru of Short, Small, Sweet}

Kjaer Weis new foundation shades and lip colors: New for Spring, Kjaer Weis has released 3 more beautiful and bright Lip Tint shades and 2 new Foundation colors! The Lip Tints are Amazed (“a pale, fresh lilac pink”), Beloved (a “luscious, buildable” “blackberry”), and Rapture (“a bright, blue-based pink”). Though these new lip shades look gorgeous, I’m actually more intrigued by the new Foundation colors that were released: Silken (“For fair – medium skin with a yellow undertone”) and Delicate (“Made for medium dark – dark skin tones”). A lot of ladies who tested the KW Foundation when it first came out were disappointed in the lack of color range, especially for women of color.

I’m specifically interested in Silken as Kristen Kjaer Weis describes it as “a sister shade to Paper Thin – the same lightness, but with a yellow undertone” which might make it a perfect match for me! (And other Asian girls with similar skintone!) Paper Thin indeed seemed too pale and ivory-learning for me so I never indulged in it, maybe now I will try out Silken. As for the shade Delicate, this is now KW’s darkest foundation shade, which is also great news for darker-skinned ladies!  Just take note that the KW Foundation does contain coconut oil, which many people are irritated/allergic to. Always try to test products out before you buy. Lip Tints: $49 or $29 refills, Foundation: $68 or $40 refills. Available at BeauTeaBar or The Detox Market. {Review of all the new KW lip tints by Lilly of Genuine Glow}

Which of these new releases are you most excited for? What are some other new products you’re lusting over?
