If you haven’t been following me on Instagram, I’ve just spent time abroad in Japan for a 2-week vacation (more on my trip soon). What peeves me the most when packing for a long trip is figuring out exactly what skincare and makeup essentials to bring, especially with a limitation on product sizes. Thankfully, Credo Beauty launched their Clean Beauty Kit just in time for me to bring it on vacation and test it out. Talk about a perfect travel skincare solution!
The Clean Beauty Kit features a beautiful and roomy makeup bag containing seven bestselling products (in travel-friendly sizes): de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm, Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream, Skin Owl Eye +, Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask, Evolvh UltraShine Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, and Lovefresh Grapefruit Deodorant.
When I travel, I usually decant all my current products into smaller reusable bottles or jars, but sometimes I prefer to bring along samples or trial-sizes to ease the burden of packing and to simplify what I bring.
Credo’s Clean Beauty Kit is not only the perfect travel solution, but it’s also a great kit for anyone itching to try luxurious natural and organic products without committing to full sizes and the price tags that come with them. The products included are generously sized and of high-quality natural/organic formulations. This kit has all your skincare essentials (cleanser, day cream, eye cream, facial mask, hair products, and deodorant) in one whole kit. Through this kit, I was able to try out many popular products and brands that were new to me!
The products in the Clean Beauty Kit were sufficient enough for my basic skincare needs throughout my two-week trip and I really enjoyed using everything in the kit. Here is the rundown of my thoughts:
de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm (.5oz): I have been dying to try anything from this luxurious UK-based skincare brand with formulations that are derived from traditional Chinese medicine. I normally prefer liquid or cream cleansers, but this Cleansing Balm is ideal for traveling and also really effective for my dry, sensitive skin. The balm’s soft, buttery texture makes application easy and gentle. “The act of massaging in this light blend of naturally sourced plant butters and oils (such as Mango, Camellia, Kukui nut) clears, cleanses and soothes both skin and soul.” The formula effectively removes dirt and makeup from skin and also locks in hydration after cleansing. My skin feels impeccably nourished and clean after using this product. The fresh herbal scent is also so soothing, making cleansing with this balm a truly sensory and reflective process. I still have plenty of product left but would definitely consider purchasing a full size when I am finished. I have a feeling this will be amazing to use during colder weather! [Full size value = $64]
Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream (.35 oz): I’ve raved about this Day Cream since the early days of my blog and I’ve continued using this product over and over again. In my opinion, the Calming Day Cream is the perfect day cream for my skin because it is lightweight while also very hydrating, and also works well with or without makeup on. It never causes irritations nor dryness for me. This cute .35 oz is perfect for traveling with and I love how convenient the pump top is! This was the only product in the entire Clean Beauty Kit that I’d tried before. [Full size value = $60]
Skin Owl Eye + (.25 oz): Truly the most amazing eye treatment I’ve ever tried! Eye + has a unique gel texture that is super lightweight, yet intensely hydrating. The product feels cool on the skin, absorbs quickly and forms a protective barrier that seems to firm and contain moisture in the undereye area. When applied, Eye + has a slight tingling sensation that is very soothing and a lovely minty-cucumber scent. My skin felt like it was being blessed with a billion tiny, cooled cucumbers! I need to get the full size of this product ASAP! I wish there had been more of this product included in this kit but, since it is a treatment for the undereye area, a little definitely goes a long way. [Full size value = $46]
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask (.25 oz): When on vacation, I’m usually too lazy or feel too busy to mask so I rarely ever bring any facial mask products along. It is a skincare step I always sorely miss when I’m traveling however. I was pleased to see this Resurfacing Mask included because it seemed like the perfect size to bring. This mask has a clear, gel formula, which I think is easy to apply and remove. It is also very gentle and moisturizing on my skin. The mask claims to provide instant glow, minimize pores, and improve skin texture. I can’t say much about many of these benefits since I didn’t use this mask long enough, but my skin did feel extremely soft and less irritated after use. I’m also intrigued about the brand’s recommendation to use this mask as an overnight spot treatment, I’ll definitely have to try that as well. [Full size value = $58]
Evolvh UltraShine Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner (2.5 oz each): When it comes to clean haircare products, nothing I’ve tried has helped my oily-prone hair. I alternate between shampoos when I shower because no one product can stand up to daily use without causing my hair to be greasy the next day, nor can I skip a day of washing. The gently cleansing shampoo and conditioner from Evolvh actually exceeded my expectations. For two weeks straight, I washed my hair daily with this combo and there was no oiliness to be found!
This shampoo gently cleanses while providing superb nourishment that has left my hair looking and feeling the best it’s had in months. My hair feels strong, shiny, and soft without any oily residue I normal experience with more natural shampoos. I believe the amazing natural and organic ingredients in this shampoo really do make a difference: “Actives like seaweed extract, mango, and apricot deliver crucial nutrients to thirsty strands, while amino and fatty acids restore hair from the inside out and provide anti-aging benefits.” Evolvh also claims this shampoo balances hair’s pH level, leaving it strong and silky.
My hair has responded so well to daily washing with this shampoo, I’m beginning to wonder, could I have found my holy grail in clean shampoo?! The lather is mildly bubbly and the scent is irresistibly fresh and herbal. The conditioner doesn’t over cleanse my hair nor make it feel overly weak like some have done before. It has a nice creamy texture that instantly smooths out and detangles hair. Evolvh describes also adds that this conditioner promotes shine,“and is also safe for chemically treated or colored hair. Active ingredients include wild pansy, sweet clover, and apricot extracts, all of which contain nourishing antioxidants, plus amino and fatty acids which restores hair from the inside out and provides anti-aging benefits.”
I’m going to continuing using up these products and perhaps, if all continues to go well, I will buy a full-size of the shampoo! So far, so good. [Full size value = $24 – $25 each]
Lovefresh Grapefruit Deodorant (0.5 oz): This cute 100% natural deodorant is a delight to use: the stick form is easy to travel with and apply, while the formula smells sweet and fruity and it quickly absorbs sweat and stink effectively. This formula has a harder texture than other deodorants but upon contact, it soon melts into the skin and spreads nicely. As for longevity, I feel as though the scent and odor-blocking capabilities of this deodorant was a bit limited. I did not feel fresh for a complete eight hours, I found the scent to last only about 2 to 3 hours, but because the stick was so small and lightweight, I didn’t feel bothered to reapply and carry this around with me. This deodorant also does not include baking soda, for those who may be concerned with allergies. In the end, I really love the scent and texture of this deodorant and I enjoyed using it! [Full size value = $7 for this exact travel size stick, $24 for full size deodorant]
This amazing skincare set from Credo Beauty is perfect for jump-starting your foray into the luxury green skincare world or exploring a handful of really high-quality, popular brands. The Clean Beauty Kit would also make a great gift, maybe for the holidays? I would have loved if Credo had include a body lotion or oil as I felt that was missing among this kit, however it seems as though there may be more sets in the future as Credo has named this “Clean Beauty Kit 1″…is that a teaser, Credo? 🙂
